Note Sent Home Yesterday 9/16/20
Good morning Norwood Family, We realize the last few weeks has been difficult for many of you and we hope and pray that everyone is healthy and safe. Closing our school for traditional learning on Aug 25th was a difficult decision but keeping our students/staff safe has been and will remain our top priority. We transitioned to our virtual approach to learning and for the most part it seems to have been successful. We are continually working to fine tune our program. After closing our facility for 14 days, following CDC guidelines, Norwood will open our campus again to traditional learning beginning Sept. 8th. If your child was enrolled traditionally but wants to continue the virtual path until a later date that will be fine as we realize your students health and safety is your main priority as it is ours. We will do everything possible to accommodate our students' needs. If your child is showing any symptoms whatsoever or they are just not feeling well, please do not send them to school until they are cleared by a medical professional. It is much better to be cautious. Working together will ensure a greater success of keeping our students safe and our facility open. Our facility has been disinfected on a regular basis and this will continue to be done. Norwood School has a scheduled staff development day on Friday September 4th and we will also be closed for Labor Day Sept.7th. There will be no google classrooms either day. Norwood School and our community is strong and we will endure these difficult times working together. Please remain safe and we hope to see everyone again on Sept.8th. If we can be of further assistance please feel free to call the office. Thank you, Norwood School Superintendent Keith Fisher
Norwood School will be providing lunches to all our students (virtual and traditional) beginning Wednesday from the hours of 11:00a.m. - 12:00p.m. This will be a drive up service with a staff member meeting you at the big drive in gate south of the cafeteria. We are requiring that if your student wants a meal that we preorder by calling the front office before 2:00 pm the previous day. This will help with knowing how much food to prepare. Because of federal guidelines we are only allowed to feed students currently enrolled in our school. Please call if we can be of any assistance. Thank you, Norwood School Superintendent Keith Fisher

Norwood Family, We truly hope everyone is doing well. We realize that these unprecedented events over the last several months has put a strain on our families and community. We have and will continue to monitor guidelines from the CDC and the OSDE, but felt it important to pass on some information to our parents and community. The first day of school for the 2020/2021 school year will begin August 6, 2020. It is our intent to begin traditional classes (on site) while maintaining the highest level of safety possible for our students and staff. We will also be offering a virtual educational process for those students/parents who do not wish to return to a traditional setting at this time. While there are still many unknown answers to how our school will function in the fall, we wanted you to know we are working continually to ensure Norwood students remain safe while receiving a great education. We will pass on more specific information as procedures become more definite, hopefully by the middle to end of July. We hope you enjoy your next few weeks of summer break and look forward to seeing everyone August 6th. If you have any questions, please call the office. Thank you, Keith Fisher
May 18th – Please join us for a special night at Norwood. Our entire staff will be present for students and staff to honk, smile, and wave as you drive thru to pick up report cards and any personal items. PK – 7th grade students can come through the line from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. We will hold our first remote 8th grade graduation beginning at 6:15 p.m. We are requesting our 8th grade parents line their cars up in the front of the school for a short informal graduation program. While we realize this isn’t an ideal situation we want to honor our 8th graders for their time at Norwood and to wish them well as they prepare for their next academic journey. Due to CDC guidelines all students and parents must remain in their vehicles while staff will remain behind the fence while observing social distancing rules.
