Greetings Norwood Parents! It is almost time for the new school year. Open House will be Tuesday, August 4, from 4:30 - 6:30. The first day of school is Thursday, August 6.

Norwood 8th grade graduation will be tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the gym.
CONGRATULATION 'S CLASS OF 2026.
The Academic Awards assembly will be Friday, May 15th at 9:00 a.m. in the gym.

School will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m.

All the track state qualifiers from this past weekend. Brooklyn Meter, Olivia Jones, Kat Miller, Ben Miller, Collin Odell Big thanks to Coach T for getting these shirts made up. 🤩

State results: Olivia Jones placed 5th in both the 100m and 200m runs. Brooklyn Meter placed 6th in Shot. Ben Miller placed 7th in Disc, 11th in Long Jump, 15th in Shot. Collin Odell placed 12th in Shot.

We’re proud to share that our school has won the Cherokee County Net Wrap Take Back for the third year in a row!

A huge thank you to Oklahoma Farm Bureau and County Commissioner Chris Jenkins for their continued support in keeping this program going and helping keep round bale net wrap out of our roads and ditches.

We’re especially grateful to our amazing community for showing up and donating so much net wrap at our school—your support is what made this achievement possible once again.

Norwood Parents - We need your help. State testing begins on Monday 4/20. Here are a few things that you can do that would help your child/children be at their best for testing:
Encourage your child/children to get a good night's rest the nights before testing. Get to school each morning in time to eat breakfast.
Avoid being tardy to school on testing days.

Kat Miller 100m & 200m Regional Champion, Olivia Jones 100m & 200m 3rd place, Brooklyn Meter Shot Put Regional Runner Up, Ben Miller Long Jump 3rd place, Discus & Shot Regional Champion, Collin Odell Shot Put Regional Runner Up. All these 8th graders qualified for State and will compete next Saturday at North Rock Creek in Shawnee.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
Through Cooking Activities, children learn a basic life skill everyone needs to have. It can also help with reading and math skills and learning to follow directions.

Remember to turn in your enrollment for Summer School !!!!!!!!!!

The Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) Summer School program will run May 26 through June 19. 8-12 Monday through Friday.

🗓 Enrollment Deadline: April 17
👧👦 A minimum of 20 students must be enrolled in order to hold summer school.

Students must also be enrolled in Kindergarten through 8th at Norwood School for the 2026-2027 school year. (Students' enrollment will automatically roll over to the next year.)

📄 Enrollment forms can be picked up in the office.
