NORWOOD SCHOOL NEWS | NOVEMBER 2026
November is shaping up to be an exciting and busy month at Norwood Public School! From academic competitions to basketball games and one of our favorite community traditions, our Hornets have plenty to look forward to as we head into the holiday season.
🧠 Academic Bowl Season Is Underway!
Our Norwood Academic Bowl teams are putting their knowledge, teamwork, and quick-thinking skills to the test as competition season gets underway!
Academic Bowl gives students the opportunity to challenge themselves beyond the classroom while developing confidence, critical thinking, and teamwork. Our students have been working hard to prepare, and we are excited to see them represent Norwood throughout the season.
With several competitions scheduled throughout November and the county tournaments approaching, we encourage everyone to cheer on our Hornets as they show what they know!
🏀 Basketball Season Is Heating Up!
The sound of bouncing basketballs and cheering fans means one thing — Hornet basketball is back!
Our 5th–8th grade basketball teams are taking the court, ready to demonstrate their skills, determination, and school spirit.
Basketball is about more than winning games. It teaches our students the importance of discipline, perseverance, sportsmanship, and working together toward a common goal.
We encourage our families and community members to come out, fill the stands, and support our student-athletes throughout the season.
Let's pack the stands and show everyone what Hornet Pride looks like!
🍁 Fall Festival Is Right Around the Corner!
One of Norwood's most anticipated traditions is almost here!
Mark your calendars for Friday, November 13, 2026, as Norwood Public School hosts its annual Fall Festival!
This special evening brings together students, families, staff, and community members for food, games, laughter, and memories.
Here's what you can look forward to:
5:30–7:30 PM: Delicious food, including Indian tacos, chili, and beans
5:30–7:30 PM: Carnival games and family fun
5:30–7:00 PM: Classroom theme basket bidding
7:45 PM: Our popular pie auction in the gym
Grocery Box Raffle: Tickets are just $1 per chance!
Our students and staff are working hard to make this year's festival a memorable one. The Fall Festival is more than a fundraiser — it is an opportunity for our school family and community to come together and celebrate what makes Norwood special.
We hope to see everyone there!
💛 More Than a School — We're a Family!
Whether our students are answering questions at an Academic Bowl competition, giving their all on the basketball court, or helping prepare for the Fall Festival, one thing remains the same: Norwood Hornets work hard, support one another, and take pride in their school.
Every competition, every game, and every school event provides another opportunity for our students to learn, grow, and build lasting memories.
We are grateful for the families, teachers, coaches, volunteers, and community members who continue to support our students and make these opportunities possible.
The classrooms are busy, the basketballs are bouncing, and the Fall Festival excitement is building. It's a great time to be a Norwood Hornet!
