🍎 Fresh fruits, healthy choices, and lots of smiles!
Norwood School was excited to welcome a School-Based Farmers Market on Tuesday, October 20, providing all Norwood students with a unique opportunity to explore healthy foods while enjoying a hands-on shopping experience.
The special event was made possible through a partnership with Tahlequah Public Schools and their TSET-funded program, along with the generosity and support of the Market Group.
During the event, students had the opportunity to visit a mini farmers market set up right at Norwood School. Students explored a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, learned about the importance of nutritious food choices, and experienced what it is like to shop at a farmers market.
One of the most exciting parts of the experience was the opportunity for students to use special “Veggie Bucks” to shop for fresh produce. The program was designed to give students a fun and interactive way to learn about healthy eating while encouraging them to try different fruits and vegetables.
And judging by the excitement and smiles, our Norwood students absolutely loved it!
Beyond providing access to fresh, healthy foods, the farmers market offered students valuable lessons in making thoughtful food choices, budgeting, and understanding the benefits of fresh produce.
