πŸ’› Norwood News: Hornets Look Out for Hornets

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and at Norwood we want every student, staff member, and family to remember one very important message: you matter.

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. Everyone has hard days and big feelings, and that is okay. Feeling sad, worried, angry, lonely, or stressed does not mean you have to face those feelings by yourself. At Norwood, we believe Hornets look out for Hornets.

One of the strongest things a person can do is ask for help. Talking to a trusted adult like a parent, teacher, counselor, coach, or family member can make a big difference. No problem is too small, and no one should ever feel like they have to struggle alone.

Students can also help make our school a kinder and safer place every day. A smile, a kind word, inviting someone to play or sit with you, or simply asking β€œAre you okay?” can mean more than you know. Small acts of kindness can have a big impact.

This month, Norwood encourages everyone to:

  • Be kind to others

  • Include people who may feel left out

  • Check on friends

  • Speak up when something feels wrong

  • Ask for help when needed

Most importantly, we want our students to know this: you are important, you are cared for, and you are never alone.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please tell a trusted adult right away. You can also call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline for free, confidential help.

At Norwood, we are stronger when we support one another.
